September in My World -- Freebie Alert!!

September was insane and I'm afraid I over extended myself just a little!  Not only was it a crazy month at work, but I was also guesting on the Scrap Takout CT and helping a few designers turn their PNG file templates into .PAGE files.  I'm glad things are starting to settle into a routine!

In exciting news I was invited to join Fran B Design's CT and I have had a blast so far!!  I was having some problems with one of her kits, where I just couldn't find a picture to go with it, so instead I made some wordart and Fran said I can give it to you as a Freebie!  Check out the bottom of this post for the link!

September is here!!

September has arrived!  This means my life is about to get a little crazy.  Tomorrow Liam starts grade 1, Becky starts going to daycare by herself, and I start working full time again!  I'm excited, but nervous too.

I'm hoping I still have lots of time for my scrapping....but if I dissapear again that would be why!!

In the mean time I'm doing all sorts of exciting things in the Digi Scrap world as well.  First I've been helping Barbara of Precepts and Promises convert all of her templates into ".page" format for use in the Creative Memories program.  It took me a little bit to learn, but I've got into a rhythm yet and I'm having a blast.  She has such beautiful templates, so nice and clean with lots of room for journalling.  So far just one of the kits has been uploaded with the .page files and it is available to Diner's Club Members at STO only, but keep your eyes open for more including this awesome set:

Digi-Deborah is still producing some amazing things as well.  She's got a fantastic kit right now called Roy G Biv, but it's only available through the STO Diner's Club so hurry over and check out that good deal!

Finally the exciting news from STO!  There is a big event this week at STO to celebrate Back to School time!  Check it out!

Have a wonderful September!

Summer Doldrums

Well, it's hit.  The Summer Doldrums.  The time of the summer where the heat has affected my brain and I can no longer think.  Suddenly I'm not inspired by anything and I just stare at my screen hoping that a page puts itself together.  Strangely enough it hasn't happened yet.  Maybe one of these sales will get me creating again!

Digi-Deborah understands my pain and, in a move to help me grow my stash, she has a great sale on!  All of her kits are just $2!!  Check it out!

In fact the whole scrap takeout team seems to know what I'm going through!  They've got this great Build Your Own Carry Out happening right now!  Several of the designers have all released kits based on the same colour scheme so you can pick and choose what you like and it will all match!

Here are some of the things you can get.  I haven't done my shopping yet...but I love the selection!

Fire and Ice Papers by Dani Moy Designs

Retro Baby Papers by A+ Designs

Fairytale Elements by FranB Designs

Last but certainly not least Digi-Deborah Designs is participating in another great Blog Train this month!  Head over to her blog to pickup this great mini!!

Well that's it for me.  Hopefully by next week I'll have snapped out of this with the help of some of these great sales!  See you then!

Problems with Store Specific Galleries

Don't get me wrong, I understand the desire for store specific galleries.  If you are making money from the store you don't want to advertise for other stores....but here's the thing.  Sometimes when I'm creating a LO I can't find the right kit at my usual store, and this means I can't put the page in my gallery!  So now I've got a page I love but I don't know where to show it off!

So here's the situation tonight.  Becky cracked me up earlier today and I just had to create a page about it.  I found this great picture that spoke to me and played with an extraction and then blurred the rest to create a pretty cool start.  But then I had to figure out what to use for the rest of the page.  I wandered the store for a while but nothing worked, so I looked through my stash and found a kit that worked perfectly that I received through the Digi Files a few months back...

I'd never had the chance to use the kit before, but it was perfect for my page....check it out:

But now I can't post it in m usual gallery, and the store that carries the kit is one that I haven't been a part of so I feel weird signing up just to show off (although I might do that anyways).  I know there are some forums/galleries that allow all stores, but I haven't been all that active in them and I do this for the community more than anything else....I just want to show it off to my friends!  So I put it on FB and I rant about it on here.

Oh wait.....THAT's what a blog is for!!!  I get it now!!

Did I Mention a Freebie?

Did you catch that?  The hint of a freebie?  Well guess what...here it is!

Digi-Deborah is participating in a great blog train this month entitled Clown Week

Isn't that awesome?  I love the fun colours and theme.  You have to go grab that and take a look at the rest of the train, but before you do that....grab this freebie I made with Digi-Deborah's kit!

How is that for the third post in a week?  Enjoy the freebie and have a clownishly good week!

Back Already!?

Surprise!!  I know you thought it would be another month, but I'm trying something new....we'll see if it works!

So what could I possibly have to tell you after only 2 days?!  Don't you worry, there is always something new and exciting in the Digi-Scrap World.

First, I've joined another CT.  I know what you are thinking..."Geepers Gen, are you collecting these things?!"...no...I'm not collecting them.  I actually stepped down from the Forever Sisters Scrap CT as of tomorrow because I had so many things on the go and I didn't want to be giving them anything other than my best work.  Then two days later I got the unfortunate news that Susan of Ivory Keys Digital Dreams was retiring...so I went from 3 CTs to 1 CT in just a few days.  I was surprised, but content with this.  I figured I would keep my eyes open.  Turns out I didn't wait long!  At a Scrap Take Out chat a few days later I heard that Precepts & Promises was looking for some people to join her 1 person CT.  Barbara does a lot of templates that I had been drooling over lately, so I offered to help!

Here is a page I did with a template from Precepts & Promise's Template Pack Volume 11: Traveler.  Isn't it an awesome template!  I love all the pictures poking out from the folders.

I have also been working with Barbara to convert her templates into ".page" format for all of us Storybook Creator users.  Another things to learn, but I think I've got it down now.

Now that I have you all excited I am sure you are wondering "How could I join a CT?"  You are in luck!  Barbara is still looking for a few more people for her team.  Check out the ad below!

Will I be back soon?  It's a question I wish I knew the answer to....but keep checking.  I've heard a rumour that Clown Week is coming up soon and I may even have a Freebie....who knows!

Just When You Thought You Were Safe...

....I'm back.

I know...every time I post I say I will post more often, and then I don't.  So I'm not going to say it any more.  I'll post when I can, but when I do it will be EPIC!

So I've got bad news this time.  My beloved Susan who designs for Ivory Keys Digital Dreams has decided to retire for the time being.  This is bad news for me...but great news for those of you who haven't discovered her yet.  You have three days until her store at Stuff to Scrap closes and all of her kits are 70% off!  Hurry over using the link below and grab some of her awesome kits!

I've been spending a large amount of time at Scrap Take Out and they've announced a great new deal I am really excited about.  They're calling it Brown Baggin' It and you purchase your "Lunch Delivery Service" for $8.99.  The service delivers you a coupon each week for a fantastic "meal".  Check out their ad below.

Last but not least our friends in the states are gearing up for "Back to School" and there are some fantastic school themed kits appearing.  My favourite so far is School is Cool by Digi-Deborah Designs.  I can't wait to use this one because I've got pictures of Liam from school that I actually haven't scrapped yet!  I'm hoping for a bit of free time tomorrow afternoon, fingers crossed!

Have a lovely weekend and who knows...maybe I'll get ambitious and add something to my calendar so I update this every week.  I can see you all rolling your eyes at that...but I might just try to surprise you!!
